I Overruled the Strict Vegan Menu for My Son’s Wedding

My prospective daughter-in-law set a strict vegan menu for their wedding. Given that our family enjoys meat, I believe she is being impolite and selfish. So, behind her back, I hired another caterer to prepare cutlets and grills because I wanted everyone to have a good day.

On the big day, my daughter-in-law was surprised to see the meal. Later that evening, my son approached me with a sneer. He looked at me and exclaimed, “This is the first and last time you will interfere with my wife’s decisions, Mom!”

Please go and apologize to her!”I became enraged and informed my son that I would not apologize for something that is normal and natural. If his wife wants to be a devout vegan, that’s her decision, but she can’t force it on the rest of us. It’s been nearly three weeks, and tensions remain between me and my daughter-in-law as a result of the wedding. Was I wrong?
