“We decided to name our daughter Elizabeth, and my wife agreed, but when I went to the maternity hospital to take up our baby, I was surprised to see…

When my wife became pregnant and we learned the gender of the kid, we began thinking about a name. At this point, a severe quarrel occurred. The ultrasound confirmed that we will have a daughter. My wife, Julia, and I were overjoyed since we had always wanted to have a lovely daughter. When we started thinking about names, my wife mentioned a family custom. Her family names new children after their grandparents. Her maternal grandmother’s name is Emma, and her paternal grandmother is Douse.

Of course, I was opposed giving my daughter such strange names. There are numerous trendy and elegant names to pick from. When I objected, my wife lectured me on the value of family traditions. I value family traditions, but I don’t want our child to bear the weight of such unusual names throughout her life. We had a lengthy conversation over this.

Finally, my wife suggested we work out a compromise.I offered the name Elizabeth, and she seems to agree. Premature labor began in the last month of her pregnancy, and she was admitted to the hospital. I was quite worried. Thankfully, the labor went nicely. And when it was time to take my daughter home, I was overjoyed and ready to embrace Elizabeth. However, I spotted something on the baby’s wristband.

I was really irritated because she is also my daughter, and I believe I have a role in her name selection. My wife and I are battling again, and I am still insisting on changing our name.
