These are quite quick to make (particularly if you use pre-made pie dough), and we find that they store nicely. Simply assemble them and freeze them before baking, then add an extra five minutes when ready to bake. We enjoy packing them in lunches; it’s wonderful to have a break from peanut butter and jelly every now and then!

This specific filling is fantastic, but you can easily make your own if you choose. Adding some chopped bacon is certainly not a terrible idea, and ground turkey or beef would both be excellent ways to change things up.
