He told the actress from The First Wives Club how she offered delight in ways she didn’t realize. He thanked her for bringing “my mother the most joy, the most comfort” during her lifetime. Garfield has always shown his affection for his mother, who died in 2019 from pancreatic cancer.
“I consider myself extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to that individual. “That person is Goldie Hawn,” he told the actress, holding her hand. “You’ve given us films full of joy. Of course, numerous parents lose their children in one way or another; I can’t comprehend how that must feel,” he remarked.
