87-year-old gets viral by handing out party invites door-to-door with the words “4 pm until the police arrive.”

Doug Turner, 87, from Bucks County, Pennsylvania, showed that friendship can happen at any age with his sweet party cards. He wanted to bring his neighbors together, so he gave Michelle Hernandez a hand-made card. The sweet conversation was caught on her home security camera. It didn’t take long for the video to go popular, turning a small act of kindness into the start of a new friendship, as The Washington Post reported. Michelle, 29, was shocked when her doorbell rang while she was working from home in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

Doug Turner, her friend, was standing on her porch. With a friendly smile, she gave her a folded piece of paper, which made her interested. “Hi, my name is Doug and I live across the street…” Turner said, “That’s where I live.” “This is an invitation to my party on February 15.” It was too important to leave in the mailbox. Michelle thanked him and went inside to read the note.

The invitation says “A Celebration of Winter” and has a well-drawn snowflake on it. It was funny that it said the party would start at “4 PM until the cops arrive.” Michelle laughed out loud as she read the note. Doug was the first person she and her husband had met when they moved into the neighborhood five months ago. Still, his kind act made a mark that will last. She said, “I just thought it was so sweet.”

Michelle thought it was great that Doug took the time to hand-deliver each note, which said, “Food and drinks will be served.” “People don’t really do that anymore,” she said, thinking about how rare such actions are. Michelle put the Ring camera video of Doug’s invitation on TikTok because she thought other people would enjoy the kind act. Over 1.3 million people watched the film very quickly.

When Good News Movement shared it again on Instagram, thousands of people commented, making the short conversation a big deal on the internet. Doug wasn’t ready for how many people responded. He had no idea that the video would get so much attention. He has chosen not to share the name of his neighborhood so that the group doesn’t get too big. This is especially true since strangers on social media started asking if they could join.
