This Man Was Crying After His Daughter Makes His Lifelong Dream Come True

Derek Godwin is a proud dad. The 51-year-old has supported his daughter Dayona by attending all of her basketball games through high school and college — even when that meant he would miss out on football season and his lifelong dream of attending a Philadelphia Eagles game.

Dayona did not ignore her sacrifice. So after graduating, he devised a special plan for his father to make his dream come true! Unbeknownst to her, Dayona bought two tickets to the Eagles vs. Washington on Father’s Day.

She wrote: I know this isn’t your typical card but trust me it’s all going to be worth it. I want to start by saying how much of an amazing father you are and I am just so blessed and grateful to have someone like you,

to show me what a man is supposed to be and how I deserve to be treated. Our father-daughter relationship, we bond through sports. I get my passion from you…. We have created memories that will last a lifetime.

You introduced me to my two favorites teams: Lakers and Eagles…. You’ve been an Eagles fan for a long time… longer than I’ve been born and you’ve never been to an Eagles game….

We will be going to our first NFL football game together and creating yet another memory that hopefully you can remember for the rest of your life like I do mine. I love you Dad and I can’t wait to experience this with you.

It means that he will finally get to see his favorite team play in person this December! When Dayona revealed the incredible surprise, his reaction was priceless! Check out the sweet moment in the video below, and don’t forget to share this story.
