A restaurant received negative online feedback after a waitress’s $16,000 tip was split among all employees. A generous diner was enjoying his meal at Stumble Inn Barr & Grill in Londonderry, New Hampshire, when he stunned a waitress. “A gentleman came in at the bar and ordered a beer and a couple of chili cheese dogs, and then he ordered pickle chips and a Patron (tequila) drink,” the bar’s owner, Michael Zarella, told TODAY Food. She handed it over and walked away, and he told her, ‘Don’t spend it all in one place.'”
Michelle McCudden, the waitress, initially refused the tip, but the generous diner told her to keep it. Zarella revealed that the tip was split between eight bartenders and kitchen staff on that particular day. Many people, however, disagreed with the decision to split the tip and left negative reviews on the bar’s website. “I just want to know if she was forced to split that tip,” one person wrote.
$16,000 is a large sum of money, and I doubt anyone would split it twelve ways if they didn’t have to. EVEN MORE SO because servers are paid less than $7.50 per hour.” “I think you should give the waiter or waitress THE FULL AMOUNT, she or he did what they needed to for that tip, and I don’t believe it would be right to split the tip among twelve when only one person waited for that table,” another said.
“She should have been able to keep it all,” a third added. Nobody should make wait staff split tips. Now, she appears to want to split, so that should be fine as well. More than $1000 is still a lot of money for a bartender, but it was exactly what she wanted. Bad reviews would be unjust, and she didn’t spend it all in one place.” What are your thoughts on this? Amanda Mancino-Williams, a writer, was on her way from Cheltenham to Nottingham by train with her children. When they all boarded the train, they noticed an elderly couple sitting in the seats they had reserved for themselves. The pregnant mother was enraged that the elderly couple refused to move from the seats she had reserved for her children. The mother kept telling them that they had made reservations in advance, but the elderly couple refused to agree and refused to give up their seats.
Amanda complained about the situation on the CrossCountry train on Twitter. S He stated that if a mother has reserved tickets for her children and herself on the train in advance, you cannot simply take her seat or tell her that reservations aren’t important. She also stated that the elderly couple simply refused to give up their seats and make any eye contact with her.
The pregnant mother was enraged at the couple because she had to go through so much trouble to inform them that the seats had already been reserved in advance. The three children tried to adjust to the two seats, and the pregnant mother stood the entire time. Amanda also mentioned how her 12-year-old daughter was making serious faces at the woman who refused to give them a seat. Fortunately, the train conductor investigated the situation and offered Amanda and her three children the spare table in the first-class compartment.
