Bruce Willis’ wife is HEARTBROKEN after their 9-year-old daughter inquired about her father’s dementia.

Bruce Willis’ wife was devastated after their 9-year-old daughter inquired about her father’s health. The Willis family revealed earlier this year that the 68-year-old actor had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, or FTD. “While this is excruciatingly painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis,” they wrote.”

Bruce always believed in using his voice in the world to help others, and to raise awareness about important issues both publicly and privately,” explained Bruce Willis’ wife, Emma Heming Willis. “We know in our hearts that if he could today, he would respond by bringing global attention and a sense of connectedness to those who are also dealing with this debilitating disease and how it affects so many individuals and their families.”

Emma, who has two children with the actor and is also the stepmother to his three daughters, Tallulah, Scout, and Rumer, has now revealed how their daughters are dealing with the diagnosis. Emma told her followers on Instagram Stories, “So, I have to tell you this story…” Evelyn, 9, asked her a heartbreaking question about her father’s condition in her video.

“I’m going to try not to cry because when Evelyn told me this story, I was a puddle,” the mother says. “All right, here we go. “The other day, Evelyn says to me, ‘Did you know that people with dementia can become severely dehydrated?’ “And I said, oh, I didn’t know that.” According to the Alzheimer’s Society, people with dementia are prone to dehydration “if they’re unable to communicate or recognize that they’re thirsty, or if they forget to drink.”

This can lead to UTIs, headaches, and other serious problems. “She says, ‘Well, I was at school the other day and she said, and I had some free time and I was looking up fun facts about dementia,” Emma says. “So I told her, ‘OK, Evelyn, we’ll always make sure daddy has a bottle of water on hand.'” Thank you for informing me.’

“And I said, ‘But, you know, that is the most loving and compassionate thing you can do is to be curious and educate yourself on your dad’s disease.'”What are your thoughts on the matter? Tell us in the comments, and SHARE this story with your friends and family!
