As Sarah drove through the snow, the window wipers tapped in time with her steps. She saw a couple standing by a stranded car on the empty road. She was kind and offered to help. Soon, Michael, Laura, and their child got in the car with her. Things went badly on their trip when the car skidded on ice and crashed.

When Sarah woke up in the hospital, she heard about the couple’s sad death. Eric, the little boy, was in surgery, and Sarah had a strong bond with him. She chose to adopt him even though it would be hard.
A soft knock on the door years later let Eric’s grandma Martha know she was there. When Martha tried to get custody and blamed Sarah for her son’s death, things got worse. Sarah was determined to keep her word to Eric, even though there was conflict.
Moving to a new town caused Sarah’s protective measures for Eric to cause emotional turmoil. Eric ran away when Martha’s letter revealed that Sarah was involved in the accident. They found him at a bridge, but there was tragedy there.

Sarah jumped into the cold river to save Eric because she was desperate. As they got closer to the shore, new information came to light. Martha admitted she had been lying and saw that Sarah was Eric’s mother. Sarah, Eric, and Martha hugged each other because they loved each other and knew they would always be there for each other. All the time.
