It looked like the hitting turned into a beating.She was smart to leave the door closed because she didn’t want anyone to come in.

She chose to wait a while before going outside to see if anyone was still there because the knocking was getting louder. After some time, she went downstairs and opened the front door to find that the person was gone. After that, she saw a rubber band on the door handle. She told the cops about what happened right away, but she wasn’t sure what it meant.
They said that other people in the area had found rubber bands on their doorknobs as soon as the cops got there.

They gave a reason for why thieves do this strange thing. When someone opens the door and takes off the latch, the rubber band stays in place. This makes it easier for thieves to get into the house. Because the rubber band keeps the latch open, the owner can’t close and lock the door. Kim has now decided to tell other people about this new strategy and tell them to be extra careful when opening a door for someone they don’t know.
