One day, at a crowded airport, passengers aboard a commercial airliner sit in their seats, waiting for the cockpit crew to arrive so they may take off. Finally, the captain and co-pilot appear at the plane’s rear and start walking up the middle aisle to the cockpit. Both seem to be blind.
The captain is using a white cane and bumping into passengers as he stumbles down the aisle, while the co-pilot is using a guide dog. Both are wearing large sunglasses to shield their eyes.
At first, the passengers do not react, believing it to be a practical joke. However, after a few minutes, the engines start revving and the plane begins to move. The passengers gaze at each other with concern, murmuring and urgently appealing to the flight attendants for reassurance. The airplane then accelerates swiftly down the runway. Some passengers begin to fear, while others pray, and as the jet approaches the runway’s end, the voices get increasingly frenzied.
Finally, when the airplane has less than 20 feet of runway remaining, the pitch of the yells changes abruptly as everyone screams at the same time, and the plane takes off and becomes airborne. The co-pilot sighs a sigh of relief and turns to the pilot, “You know, one of these days the passengers aren’t going to scream, and we’re gonna get killed!”
