Pretty, huh? In the US, full-grown Ayam Cemani chickens have been sold for as much as $2,500 in the past. This breed of chicken is black because they have a dominant gene that makes them have too much pigmentation, a disease known as fibromatosis. Cream-colored eggs are laid by Ayam Cemani hens. However, it’s not true that these chickens have black blood.
