An average suburban kitchen is full of family activities. Dad, who is naughty but likeable, sits at the table drinking soda and looking through his phone. Emily, his smart and funny teenage daughter, walks into the kitchen with a smile on her face, not knowing what’s going to happen with the soda.Emily sees her favorite can of cherry-flavored soda in the fridge, ready for her when she gets home from a long day at school.
She smiles and reaches for the trash can, but it’s not where it should be. She looks around confusedly and then her eyes land on her dad. She asks her dad, “Dad, did you take my soda?” She is half-joking and half-lying.Dad is taken off guard but not ready to give up, so he smiles in a playful way. “Do you want your soda?” He says, “I haven’t seen any soda,” and his eyes light up with fun.

Emily narrows her eyes because she doesn’t believe her dad’s act of stupidity. “All right, Dad. I know you got it. “That cherry soda was meant just for me,” she says, crossing her arms to act serious. Dad can’t hold back his laughter, so he chooses to join in. “That soda?” He tries not to laugh as he says, “Well, I just thought it looked lonely in there.”Emily rolls her eyes and twitches her lips as if she wants to laugh but can’t.
“Okay, Dad. Soda for one, huh? It’s more like “dad is thirsty,” she replies with a smile. Dad now puts on a fake-injured face as they get into their funny fight. “That hurt, Em. “Accusing your old man of soda theft,” he says in a rude way, which makes Emily laugh out loud. Emily jokes, “You know you’re busted, Dad,” shaking her head as if she doesn’t believe it.

Dad gives up and raises his hands, unable to keep up the act any longer. “All right, all right, guilty as charged!” “But I have to say, that soda did taste pretty good,” he says with a smile.
Emily laughs because she knows the fight is pointless. “Okay, Dad, you win this time. She laughs and pats her dad on the shoulder as she says, “Just don’t steal my soda all the time.”Their kitchen is filled with laughter as the father and daughter enjoy a fun moment together. Their love for each other is clear and can’t be denied. Dad finally says he’ll get Emily’s favorite soda, ending their silly fight with a promise of fizzy peace.
