The John Lewis Christmas Advert 2022 conveys a powerful message, reminding us all that even the most insignificant actions can have a significant impact. What a lovely outlook for the holiday season! At the beginning of the video, a man skateboards badly in a parking lot.
He falls off the board and stands up, looking defeated. He walks in as his wife is on the phone, complaining about how she can’t wait. He grabs some frozen peas to apply to his injured knee and slumps onto the couch, defeated. The man then decorates the Christmas tree with his wife while grinning. He’s obviously sore from all of his skateboard mishaps.
He sneaks and watches skateboard videos at the office, and the camera pans down to reveal his feet on top of a board under his desk. He is adamant about learning. There are some instances of success and excitement. The doorbell rings unexpectedly in the John Lewis Christmas commercial. The man and his wife exchange a look of excitement.
A young girl stands in the doorway, nervously looking at them. The girl is in foster care and will be living with them. She cradles a skateboard in her arms and nods to the man’s arm brace. The man admits that he skates as well, but her board is cooler. They invite the girl in, and the two of them become friends.
(And my eyes well up with tears as I watch!) The John Lewis Christmas Advert for 2022 concludes by stating that over 108,000 children in the United Kingdom are in foster care.
This emotional video teaches us the kindness and outpouring of love that we can show to others if we make the effort.
Jesus loved us so well, and we can love others through the power of His love in us.esus, knowing their thoughts, took a little child and had him stand beside him. Then he said to them, “Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.” Luke 9:47-48
